Cool, great. This song was on the charts when I was in college. It was one of the musical bright spots of my study sessions in the dorm. England rocks….and I’d love to be in England right now.

Some songs just pop up in your head once a year or so. This is one of them for me. Great tune, fun lyrics and I love the double voice.
    See you next year ;)

@hell5309 That’s not the way Pat describes it if you YouTube this title HERE: “Timbuk3: One hit wonder: Future so bright I gotta wear shades”

this tune is just so good…………….

@severedfragile It’s not about nuclear holocaust. It’s about the fact that when Pat and Barbara first married, they were starting to be successful, and Barbara said, “The future’s looking so bright, we’ll have to wear sunglasses!”, which Pat took to be ironic. Now, there is a slower version of this song featuring an extra verse that makes the song dark, but it’s not about nuclear holocaust. More or less, it’s the antithesis of the blues.
